"Katie's Pond" is a wonderful new children's book, written by Jeanne M. Freeman, and beautifully illustrated by Anne Recchia.

The book's author is a second grade teacher at the George I. Clapp School, overlooking Horn Pond, in Woburn. Using the pond as an open classroom, the book takes "Katie" and her second grade classmates on a guided tour of the environment around them.
